    How to make a classic matcha tea

    It’s not so easy to prepare matcha tea properly, but it’s a magic ritual that can bring peace and aesthetic satisfaction. Two classic recipes use Japanese and tea-masters:

    • Koicha (strong tea) – a very concentrated drink that prepares with 4 gr of matcha powder and 50-70 ml of water.
    • Usucha (weak tea) – a classic recipe that has not so a bright taste, but it’s easier to drink. It takes 2 gr of matcha powder and 80-100 ml of water.

    The temperature should be under 80 degrees, otherwise, the matcha tea powder could lose its nutrition properties. If you use a simple electronic teapot, then let it cool for 5 minutes after it boiled. Prepare all the equipment, turn on the relaxing music and enjoy this magic ritual.

    You will need special equipment to prepare the ceremonial matcha tea. There are professional ceramic dishes, that use Japanese tea masters:

    • Chawan – ceramic or porcelain steeping bowl
    • Chasaku – bamboo spoon containing 1 gr of matcha
    • Strainer – for sifting the matcha
    • Chasen – bamboo whisk for stirring

    For example, if you are going to prepare Usucha tea, you need to heat all the equipment and get it wet. Then dry it with the napkin. Sift the matcha powder through a sieve to oxygenate it and remove any foreign matter. Heat the water under 80 degrees and pour 80-100 ml of water. Stir matcha with Chasen, do it in a way of W-moves.

It’s like a classic latte, but with no coffee containing. Matcha latte can be prepared not only with cow milk, but also with nut milk, rice milk, soya milk, and even with juice. So, how to make a matcha latte or ice matcha latte?

    First of all, you need to prepare the matcha shot. It’s easy, just do the same we told you about matcha tea preparing, but use 2 gr of matcha powder with the 30 gr of 80 degrees water. Then heat up any milk: cow, nut, rice, soya, and so on. Use a special steamer or electronic whisk to whip up the foam. Pour the foamed milk into a matcha shot. It would be better to stir matcha while infusing milk, but it’s not necessary. Almost the same point when you make an iced matcha latte. Although, put the ice in a glass, then pour here iced milk, and pour the matcha shot in those iced milk. Enjoy your healthy drink!
